NEGOTIATIONS SURVEY FOR 2010-11

WE NEED YOUR INPUT on any concerns with the CSEA Contract for negotiations!

BACKGROUND:
The District and CSEA are beginning negotiations for 2010-2011.  The current collective bargaining unit agreement’s term ends June 30, 2010; therefore, the full contract is open for negotiations.  The CSEA Negotiating Team is interested in hearing from NMUSD Bargaining Unit Members regarding their interests, concerns and priorities for bargaining.  The information provided by the survey will assist your CSEA Negotiating Team with being aware of the issues you feel are important.  If you do not have access to a computer at home or work, CSEA has asked to have the computer lab in the SIMC building available on Thursday, January 7, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Thursday, January 14, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  CSEA E-Board Members will be on hand to assist you.  You will not be given “release time” to complete your survey during these times, but you are welcome to come to the computer lab after your working hours.

INSTRUCTIONS:
HAVE YOUR EMPLOYEE ID NUMBER READY (You can obtain your Employee ID# from your check or from your timekeeper).  Please take a few minutes to complete this brief questionnaire.  The responses to the questions in the survey will be sent anonymously to Cindy Means @ cmeans@nmusd.us and shared with the Negotiations Team.

TIPS:
The Survey will ask you for up to five CSEA Contract issues and your recommended solutions.  It will help if you prepare these in advance before you start the survey.  There is also room for general comments.

SURVEY DEADLINE:
The survey will conclude at the close of business on January 15, 2010.

Employee Recognition

Employee Service Awards

Employee Service Awards are distributed in the spring for employees that have served NMUSD for 10, 15, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 Years.  The distrubution schedule is based on Original Hire Date and the pins are distributed the year following completion of the designated years of service.

Super Star Award Nomination Form

In January of 2000, the Newport-Mesa Unified School District implemented the PRIDE employee recognition program (Proudly Recognizing Individuals Demonstrating Excellence).  The Super-Star Awards program evolved from input by members of the community, District employees and from the Board of Education's original PRIDE program.  The Super-Star program recognizes employees who go far beyond the call of duty, doing more than others expect. This is what excellence is all about.  It comes from striving, maintaining the highest standards, paying attention to the smallest detail, and going the extra mile.  Excellence means caring -- it means making effort to do more.  Celebrating excellence is an important part of the Board of Education's recognition of the contribution made by the employees of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.
